In 2018, the most beautiful beaches around the world were visited by more people than ever before, according to a new report.
The report, released by travel consultancy TripAdvisor, says there are more than 3.7 billion people who visit the beaches every year, but only 1.2 billion people actually go to the beaches.
The average visit is a family of four, but many of the top-ranked beaches around Asia are more affordable.
For example, the beaches in Cambodia, the Philippines, India and Thailand were all listed as top 10 destinations for 2018.
The top three spots are on the East coast of South America, in the Philippines.
The beaches in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand are also top 10.
The report also revealed the beaches on Australia’s Gold Coast, New Zealand’s North Island and Papua New Guinea’s Bali are among the most popular.
The World Tourism Organisation also ranked the most scenic beaches in Asia and the Pacific, with Thailand being the top beach destination in Asia, followed by Cambodia, Indonesia and the Philippines and the Solomon Islands.
