The Singapore City map is a popular tourist attraction for Australians, but it could soon be eclipsed by the moon.
The Moon is now visible to the naked eye, but for many it is a much more familiar sight.
“It is an amazing place, but unfortunately there are not enough people to get a good view of the moon, so that is a bit of a problem,” said Richard Koo, the founder of the Singapore City Maps Association.
“So we are trying to put together an app, a map for people to see the moon.”
The app will allow users to look around the Singapore skyline in 3D, including the iconic skyscrapers.
It will also allow them to see some of the most famous landmarks, including Parliament House, the Singapore Science Museum and the Singapore Government buildings.
“We are planning to create a website in Singapore to showcase the Moon and all of its wonders, and we are looking to do it for a few years,” Mr Koo said.
“We are hoping to make a little bit of money out of it.”
But I don’t think it is going to become a regular tourist attraction, I think it will just be another thing people do.
“Mr Koo has been developing the map for a number of years, but said it had taken longer than expected to get the app up and running.”
I thought we would have a working version in about three years,” he said.
The map will be available to the public at a later date.
